The Wendigoes Curse: Ch. 14

    Roseluck sighed staring at the tall trees knowing her target was sitting in the trees. She closed her eyes rethinking the plan that was given to her a couple of days ago.

    Their master told them that she felt the Chosen One’s presence. Since when did the slave kid got the title Chosen One? Roseluck didn't know and knew that Cloud Kicker and Vinyl were also annoyed by the new change of names, but kept silent about it. Their master said that Discord's Chosen was in the village of thieves, which was run by his wayward son, Pandemonium.

    Between the three and their master, Roseluck was chosen to head the mission to destroy the village and to also try and bring back the Chosen One alive. Roseluck agreed to the mission. But before she left she felt worry over their master's sudden obsession over the girl.

    It was almost like the last time their master chose to obsess over...

    Roseluck stiffened and turned hearing a poof of magic. She watched as several black cloaked members of her order come out of the worm hole. She sighed standing up. "Took you lot long enough." She grouched watching as a total of thirty Mages of Chaos emerged from the worm hole.

    "Apologies," One of them replied bowing. "We had to bring mages from other parts of the realm."

    Roseluck sighed. "Fine, you all know the mission?"

    "Some of us were pulled in at the last second." The mage said with worry.

    Roseluck nodded. "Alright, here's the deal." She began gaining everyone’s attention. "Our master felt Discord’s touched girl in the thieves village in the trees here in White Tail Wood. Our master said she could care less what happens to the village. Our focus is the girl. You'll know her by her pink and blue striped hair and pink eyes. Also on account of the thieves, their leader the past Prince Pandemonium, will no doubt create a defensive move to stop us.

    "Just beware of your power, bring fear to those that defy our power, but also make sure the one we're after is captured alive." Roseluck snarled seeing many of the mages bow their heads.

    "Yes master." They all murmured.

    "Good, now take positions. Pegasi mages, fly to the limbs and cause chaos. Weather mages come in behind. The rest of you show them your power!"

    "Yes Master!" The mages called out.

    "Good, now fly! Move!" She ordered. The pegasi mages revealed their wings and flew to the air, the others rushed to the giant trees ready for the attack.

    Roseluck blinked looking up watching a leaves float past her face. She snatched a leaf looking at it and smirked. Between her fingers the leaf began to dry and turn black as the edges began to ignite in flames.

    "Hmm, Master didn't say I can cause a fire. And last I checked, this area is in a drought." She chuckled evilly as she balled up her fists then punched them up into the air shooting fireballs into the tall trees watching the leaves begin to alight with fire."

    "See if they can escape from that." She chuckled as she snapped her fingers and disappeared in green sparkles.


    "Pan, I'm scared!" A young girl's voice cried in the darkness.

    "It's alright," A boy's voice replied. "Everything's alright!"

    "But it's so dark!"

    "I know."

    "Where's Mother and Father?"

    "I ... don't know, but they're coming! I know it."

    "When will we get out of here?"

    Suddenly the giant wood door slammed open blinding the two children. Standing in the light wasn't who the children expected. The figure was tall and dressed in black clothes with a cape and hood. The figure had glowing orange eyes causing the children to whimper with fear.

    "Right now," A dark female voice replied chuckling as her gloved hand glowed in orange light.


    Pandemonium jumped waking up from the nightmare and looking around him to find himself in his feeding hall, seeing his thieves enjoying a feast after their raid on a caravan.

    He sighed softly rubbing his face and snout trying to get that horrible memory out of his mind. He yawned then shook his head with a sniff. He looked up seeing his sister joining in on the feast with her usual frown and piercing eyes checking every face for enemies. Behind her was Bing Cherry, one of the slaves that traveled with her.

    Pandemonium couldn’t help but smile at how much Bing resembles a puppy following his owner. Just imagining that made him chuckle. Then the thought went away when he heard his sister’s scream in his head causing him to squeeze his eyes shut.

    Radiance looked up noticing her brother barring his teeth and pressing his finger to her forehead. She frowned turning away from him.

    "What's wrong?" Bing asked curiously.

    Radiance blushed turning to him seeing how close he was to her. "None of your concern." Radiance threatened shoving past him. Bing blushed watching her march off to an empty table and sat down eating her meal. Bing sat down across from her.

    "Why are you following me?" Radiance snarled in warning.

    Bing shrugged. "Gives me something to do." He replied taking a bite of pork licking his lips.

    "What?" Radiance asked flabbergasted. She noticed his look and he looked serious.

    "Well the girls are sleeping, resting from the beating they took from Lightning Dust. Also ... I'd rather learn more about you."

     Radiance looked at him skeptically seeing his quirked brow. "Why such interest in me?" Radiance asked leaning forward on her arms on the table.

    Bing blushed with a shrug trying to think of an answer. "Does... 'You're different' an okay answer?" He asked worriedly. Radiance stared at him for a long moment then rolled her eyes grabbing her tankard to get a drink. Bing blushed turning away.

    Suddenly the whole room shook and a huge noise rang in everyone’s ears. Pandemonium stood up from his throne as his thieves got up from the floor or from the benches pulling out their swords and knives.

    "What the hell was that?" Pan asked. Suddenly a young boy stumbled into the feeding hall, panting hard.

    "We're attacked." He whispered before falling to the floor. A woman screamed in horror seeing an arrow protruding from the boy’s back.

    Radiance got up rushing to the doorway and gasped ducking as an arrow flew past her head hitting Pandemonium's throne. Pandemonium blinked seeing how close the stray arrow was to his face. He growled pulling the arrow out of the throne then turned to the doorway.

    "We're under attack!" He yelled out. "Battle stations, kill those that dare attack our home!"

    The thieves all roared in agreement as they separated, rushing to multiple exits hidden from Radiance and Bing. The two turned to see Pandemonium reach behind his throne to pull on a sword belt. He turned to his sister and nodded to her. Radiance nodded in return grabbing Bing's arm.

    "Come on!" She ordered.

    "Wait, where?" Bing called out as the room shook violently causing the three to fall over to the floor. "Who's attacking us?" Bing exclaimed as they heard screams outside the room.

    Pandemonium growled. "I sense them."

    "Me too." Radiance replied stringing her bow.

    "Who then?" Bing asked curious as he grabbed a knife off the floor.

    "Them." Pandemonium growled angrily. "The Mages of Chaos. They're here."


    Harmony and Syrup ran past the falling embers as they rushed to find Bing.

    "Where's Bing?" Harmony asked looking around. "I thought you said you saw him!?"

    "I did!" Syrup cried out covering her head from the falling leaves and bark from the tree. "He should be here!"

    "Girls!" A voice called out. The two turned to see Bing rush over to them. "I've been looking for you let's go!"

    Syrup was ready to go with him, but something bright suddenly flashed causing Bing to stiffen and turn. "What the hell?" He exclaimed, his voice cracked as a bright light flew over and hit him in the face, pushing him into the tree causing him to groan.

    "What's that?" Syrup asked in shock as the light flew towards them. The light evaporate revealing a fairy. Harmony gasped in shock recognizing the fairy. But now that it was up close the fairy was dressed in a green shirt, dark brown trousers, with short white hair and red eyes. The fairy’s wings were clear and hanging over his shoulder was a satchel. Surprisingly by the build of its tiny body and the shape of its face, it looked male.

    "Hey," Harmony said in shock pointing at the fairy. "I remember you."

    The fairy grinned nodding. Syrup was amazed by the fairy. She gasped turning to see Bing but instead of him it was someone else. She yelped hiding behind Harmony as Harmony saw the figure getting up. Part of his face where the fairy struck was a different face. The man stood up chuckling rubbing his injured cheek.

    "Damn and here I thought my magic was strong enough to mask me." He said in a different voice. Harmony gulped seeing the man approach them, half of his body was Bing’s while his other half was that of a man in a dark cloak.

    "Mages of chaos." Harmony whispered in shock as Syrup backed up with her.

    "Forget this useless disguise." The mage said as his Bing disguise evaporated. "Time to come with me Discord's Chosen."

    Harmony stiffened feeling her blood go cold hearing that term. "Back off!" She warned as the man approached them holding out his hand revealing green fire.

    "I'm afraid you're coming with me whether you like it or not." He snarled holding out his hand. "Don't worry, a little paralysis spell will keep you contained."

    "Syrup, stand back!" Harmony ordered quickly shoving her friend away. A flash of green light blinded the girls then they heard a scream. The girls rubbed their eyes and gasped seeing the fairy floating over the edge as the screaming turned faint then silence. Syrup peeked over the edge and gasped seeing that the mage had fallen over.

    "How?" She gasped turning to the fairy to see him nod his tiny head. "You did that?" The fairy smirked as he flew over to Harmony and sat on her shoulder dusting himself off as if happy with himself.

     Harmony sighed shaking her head. "We got to go find Bing, the real Bing!" She said with urgency. Syrup nodding running with her deeper into the village while the fire continues to spread.



    Roseluck appeared in bright green sparkles in the village. She looked around her seeing chaos at its fearing glory. She smirked watching the villagers of the trees running for their lives, grabbing any valuable they can get or their loved ones.

    She blinked hearing a cry of pain and turned with shock to see ten of her mages on the floor groaning. The one causing her mages to fall was one woman spinning a wooden staff. She spun and smacked a mage in the face then stomped hard on the mage's head. Roseluck gasped seeing the woman, the blindfold was a new thing, but the build, the color of her hair, and her snarl was all there.

    "Impossible! Stop you fools don’t engage her!" Roseluck screeched stopping her mages from attacking the pegasus woman.

    Lightning Dust perked up hearing the voice and smirked. "It's been years since I heard that annoying voice." She said turning to face Roseluck.

    "How?" Roseluck said in shock. "You're supposed to be dead! Master killed you!"

    Lightning Dust chuckled. "You mean the traitor." She snarled. "How is the traitor? Still a conniving little bitch?"

    Roseluck smirked. "Our master is doing well and has a master plan that you would've been perfect for."

    Lightning Dust frowned at that. "I know what plan you're talking about, I'm surprised she's still doing it when she failed twice! Why would this third time be any different?"

    Roseluck laughed, "Mages spread our chaos, leave this traitor to me!" She announced. "Let’s see how your magic has faired since your leaving."

    Lightning Dust smirked. "Always the one that underestimates her opponents. You never learned." She snarled.

    Roseluck chuckled. "Oh really?" She asked holding out her hands to produce fireballs. "I've changed since we last fought." She snarled.

    Lightning Dust took in a deep breath and let it out slowly preparing her senses as Roseluck threw the first attack. Lightning Dust dodged to the left feeling the sudden heat of the fireball pass her arm. She ducked as she heard the fireball fly over her head. Roseluck blinked in shock seeing the pegasus woman's reflexes and how she sensed her attacks. She growled as she threw more fireballs and Lightning Dust was able to dodge them all.

    Roseluck panted watching Lightning Dust beginning to slow down. She was losing steam, too. "You can't dodge me forever!" Roseluck called out as she began approaching her. Lightning Dust stood up hearing Roseluck approaching her. She stood ready with her staff in front of her using her magic to feel around. She groaned, her senses were being blocked by the heat of the fire all around her. Roseluck noticed and smirked.

    "A pity. You can sense me but thanks to the fire you can’t feel me, hmm?" Roseluck said softly noticing Lightning Dust turning her head trying to listen. Roseluck was now two feet away from her smirking as Lightning Dust was looking for her, sensing her presence.

    "Fire's getting intense, the flames roar in your ears." She whispered. "You can't hear a thing." Roseluck whispered pulling a knife from her belt. She thrust the blade but a hard slap in the face knocked the woman to the floor her knife skidding away to a pair of shoes. Harmony looked down at the knife then looked up seeing Lightning Dust standing over the mage.

    "Lightning Dust!" Syrup called out causing her to jump and turn to them. "Have you seen Bing?" Before she could reply Roseluck grabbed her ankle. Lightning Dust gasped looking down but couldn't see a thing only felt dread.

    "I underestimate you say?" Roseluck asked wickedly her hand glowed and Lightning Dust screamed out in terrible pain as her ankle started to burn. Harmony and Syrup gasped in shock. Lightning Dust growled in pain and stomped Roseluck, the woman released her and rolled away. She turned to see Harmony and Syrup and recognized them immediately, she blinked in shock seeing a glowing fairy standing on Harmony's shoulder. She growled turning in time to dodge another attack from Lightning Dust. She got up and disappeared in sparkles then reappeared a distance away looking at them. Seeing she was outmatched, outnumbered, and losing ground thanks to the fire, she snorted.

    "I'm afraid things are getting too hot for me." She growled as the limbs began to crack and fall to the ground. Lightning Dust winced falling to her knees, Harmony and Syrup rushed over to her.

    "Are you alright?" Harmony asked worriedly.

    "I'm fine!" Lightning Dust winced cleaning her fists tightly around her staff. Syrup gulped seeing Lightning Dust's pant leg looked black from the flame spell.

    "Until next time," Roseluck smirked seeing Harmony glare at her. "Discord's Chosen." She disappeared in sparkles just as a giant limb fell from the sky past her last position. Harmony sighed turning away as Syrup gulped seeing the dead bodies of the mages.

    "Is that all of them?" She asked.

    "Most of them," Lightning Dust replied grunting as she stood up with a curse. "Damnit"

    "Can you walk?" Syrup wondered wiht worry.

    "I can move," Lightning Dust reassured her as she stood up wincing in pain as she rested her weight on her good leg while her bad ankle stung from the terrible burn. Harmony felt the fairy tug her hair and turned to him. He pointed up frantically. Harmony looked up to see limbs falling from the tree. She rushed to Lightning Dust and reached under her to grab her arm and pulled it over her shoulders. Lightning Dust turned to her surprised.

    "I can walk, Shorty."

    "I know, we just need to move, now!" Harmony said quickly. Syrup gasped grabbing Lightning Dust's other arm and rushed forward. Lightning Dust stiffened feeling a heavy presence. Syrup and Harmony gasped turning behind them seeing a giant limb fall, engulfed in flames, fell through one of the walkways with a couple of huts crashing to the ground.

    "Go!" Lightning Dust said quickly. "Just go! We need to get out of here!"
